No I am not talking about your appetite after a crash diet or trying to keep growing boys feed. The bottomless pit can commonly be referred to as your purse. How many times have you searched around for something in your purse at home or out shopping to get frustrated with yourself for not knowing where it is? Or the ultimate sign of the bottomless pit when you must dump the articles of your bag out to find what you need. It is at that moment that you realize – do I really need all this stuff in my purse? Most of the time that thought is hijacked by the next to do item so you shove everything back into your precious handbag and take off.
It is funny that no matter the size of the purse; there is still the searching around to find ‘stuff.’ You and I tend to fill our purses to capacity (or a little over) no matter the starting size of the purse. Thus creating the bottomless pit no matter the starting size of the purse.
I am sure there is research out there on the average number of items in a women’s purse, but I have not yet found it. So, I thought we would do our own research by counting up the number of items in our purses. And better yet take a picture of all the items in your purse to show everyone.
So that is exactly what I did – Here are all the items found in my Coach purse…
a. red wallet
b. PDA
c. cell phone
d. hand sanitizer spray (still in the wrapper, but at least I have some)
e. lip gloss
f. house key
g. grocery list from yesterday’s trip
h. two checkbooks
i. notepad for quick notes
j. feminine products
k. everyday lipstick
l. darker lipstick
m. business cards
n. random change
o. lost stylus for pda (I had been using my old one.)
p. highlighter
q. gum in package
r. random sticks of gum out of the package
s. 2 bobby pins
t. broken necklace of my daughter’s that needs to be fixed
u. favorite bracelet
v. paper with new doctor information on it for my kids
26 items for me
